Confirms 'Good Book' Means Good Business
ST. LOUIS, March 3, 2004-- As business
schools around the country search for material on
ethics, a survey confirms that the most credible resource
on business ethics is one of the oldest books around.
The survey, conducted by American Research
Group on behalf of David Steward, billion-dollar Christian
business owner and author of Doing Business by
the Good Book (Hyperion; January 2, 2004; $19.95;
hard-cover), confirmed that more than 70 percent of
Americans believe business scandals would be avoided
if CEOs followed the principles found in the Bible.
The survey also confirmed that 94.4%
of Americans believe companies run by individuals
who observe the Bible will grow at least as fast as
or faster than those that are not. And, more than
54% of respondents said they would be more
likely to invest in a company run by a CEO who uses
the Bible to guide his or her business decisions.
David Steward founded World Wide Technology
in 1990 and grew it by following the principles he
learned from one of the oldest business books ever
published--the Bible. His company was named the largest
African-American-owned company by Black Enterprise
magazine in 2001.
Steward, who sharpens his and others
beliefs by teaching a Sunday school class titled "Business
by the Good Book," has taken those beliefs one
step further in his first book, Doing Business
by the Good Book: 52 Lessons on Success Straight from
the Bible. This inspirational business book is
a sampling of what Steward and his wife have taught
every Sunday for the past four years.
Following a Bible passage for each week
of the year are corresponding scriptural passages
and personal anecdotes that can help readers increase
their bottom line, as well as the capacity of their
souls -- a great return on investment!
