Springfield's 23rd Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship
Breakfast to be held on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at
the Sheraton Springfield Hotel ( 9 a.m.)
Keynote speaker Dr. Deborah Prothrow-Stith
of Harvard University, who specializes in youth violence,
will talk about "non-violence in a violent time."
The 23rd annual Martin Luther King, Jr. City-Wide Memorial
Scholarship Breakfast will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday,
January 15, 2005 at the Sheraton Springfield Hotel.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. Deborah Prothrow -Stith,
professor of Public Health Practice and Associate Dean
for Faculty Development at the Department of Health
Policy and Management at Harvard University.
The theme for 2005 is "Together, we must learn
to live as brothers/sisters or together we will be forced
to perish as fools" (Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King,
Jr.).
Tickets are available at Wesley United Methodist Church,
741 State Street, Springfield, MA from 9 am.-1 pm ,
Monday through Friday, or by calling (413) 734-3233

admission is $20; Senior citizen advanced admission
is $20 and regular advanced admission is $22. All admissions
at the door are $25. Parking is included.
This year's scholarship recipient will be announced
at the Breakfast. The Scholarship and Breakfast is sponsored
by the Wesley United Methodist Church.
