Minority Supplier Development Council Inaugural Emerging
Business Award to be presented by Grammy Award Winner

May 17, 2005, Boston, MA - The New England
Minority Supplier Development Council (NEMSDC), Corporate
Members and Certified Minority Businesses will present
their 31st Annual Business Opportunity Fair, Luncheon
and Awards Ceremony at the Copley Marriott Hotel on
May 31st at 12 noon, followed by their annual golf
classic at Shaker Hills Country Club on June 1st.
Grammy Award Winner and Legendary Jazz Artist,
Nancy Wilson will present the 2005 Inaugural Emerging
Business Award during the luncheon.
Ms. Wilson blurs the line between jazz singer and
pop singer, preferring to be called a "song stylist."
She is sometimes referred to as the modern day Sarah
Vaughan.
"It is an honor and a pleasure to welcome Ms.
Wilson for our 31st Annual Luncheon. It is particularly
special that she has chosen to help us inaugurate
the new Emerging Business Award for which we are proud
to introduce, said Tina Andrews, President of NEMSDC.
"Each year our goal is to generate more excitement
and interest when it comes to supplier diversity.
Certainly this year will be no exception."
The 2005 Emerging Business Award will be presented
to an early stage Certified Minority Business Enterprise
who best exemplifies outstanding performance, service
and delivery to corporations, government and state
agencies.
Tony Singletary, prominent Hollywood Director and
President and CEO of Oji Productions a minority owned
Production Company located in Hollywood, California
will be the keynote speaker of this most prestigious
event.
The dynamic duo, Chris Tabb and Corey Manning, local
area comedians will emcee the Emerging Business luncheon
on May 31st.
The New England Minority Supplier Development Council
is a not for profit organization established in 1974
to foster the development, expansion and success of
Minority Business Enterprise in the New England area
by providing a direct link to Corporate America. It
is one of 39 Regional Councils and an affiliate of
the National Minority Supplier Development Council
(NMSDC).
