Second Annual Award Honors Seven High-Performing College Students

the recipients of the second annual Cirilo A. McSween
New York Life Rainbow PUSH Excel Award given to seven
high-performing college students who have achieved
academic excellence and play an active role in their
communities. The students were awarded at a recent
ceremony at New York Life.

DuPree, a native of Farmville, North Carolina, a sophomore
social work major at North Carolina A&T University;

Wharton School of Business; Sy Sternberg, chairman
and chief executive officer of New York Life Insurance
Company; Micah Hunter, from Brooklyn, New York, a
senior psychology major at Hampton University; Cirilo
A. McSween, New York Life's first African-American
agent who joined New York Life in 1957; DaNia Allen,
a native of Chicago, Illinois, a computer information
systems junior at DePaul University; Steven Richardson,
a native of Matteson, Illinois, a sophomore business
administration major at Prairie State College; and
Eboni Mack, from Detroit, Michigan, a junior communication
studies major at University of Michigan.
