Wheelock College Promotes
Programs on Campus to Create a Multi-Cultural Learning
Community

- Jackie Jenkins-Scott, the first African American
President of Wheelock College, seems to have the students
and faculty full of activities supporting the accomplishments
of several black leaders, including two educators and
an Emmy-nominated actress.
Wheelock's President is hosting two important
consecutive receptions Thursday, October 27th and Friday,
October 28th. The first special event is to honor the
nation's First Haitian-American President, Dr. Carole
Berotte Joseph of Massachusetts Bay Community College.
The second event, welcomes actress, artist-in-residence,
Victoria Rowell of the Young and The Restless,
to help kick-off the 25th Anniversary of Wheelock Family
Theatre. Ms. Rowell, a foster care advocate and founder
of the Rowell Foster Care Children Positive Program
has awarded some outstanding students of Wheelock College
with scholarships from her organization. She will join
in the prestigious theatrical company's anniversary
festivities this weekend, as well as promote her efforts
towards enriching the lives of foster children. Wheelock
College's commitment to diverse cultural causes, the
dramatic arts and the family does not end there. As
the first of several international educators to visit
from around the world and broaden the global outreach,
distinguished visiting scholar Dr. Ambroise Medegan,
travels from the Republic of Benin, to speak with the
students about ethnically diverse social affairs beginning
October 24th - November 19th.
Wheelock, a private college with a public
